Professors Ling Jiaxin and Li Jinlin from Uppsala University, Sweden Visited Xiyuan Hospital

Recently, Associate Professors Ling Jiaxin and Li Jinlin from the Center for Zoonotic Diseases of the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology at Uppsala University, Sweden, visited Xiyuan Hospital of CACMS.

Ren Yan, Deputy Director of Xiyuan Hospital attended the academic seminar, introduced the hospital's profile and development vision, and expressed expectations for extensive and in-depth bilateral cooperation in the field of molecular pharmacology of traditional Chinese medicine. Xu Yun, Director of the Oncology Department of Xiyuan Hospital, presided over the academic seminar.

Professor Ling Jiaxin delivered a lecture on “Integration Strategies of TCM Formulas and Western Medical Mechanisms — A Case Study of Collaboration between Uppsala University and Xiyuan Hospital”. Professor Li Jinlin gave a lecture on “Mechanisms of Virus Infection and Research on Antiviral Drugs”. The two professors mainly introduced their exploration of the mechanisms of virus infection and research on antiviral drugs by integrating TCM thinking and formulas.

Yang Yufei (academic leader of the Oncology Department at Xiyuan Hospital), Xu Yun (Director of the Oncology Department), Ren Junguo (Director of the Institute of Basic Medicine), and more than 30 young scholars from Xiyuan Hospital participated in this exchange. Subsequently, Professors Ling Jiaxin and Li Jinlin visited the Institute of Basic Medicine, Xiyuan Hospital, and examined the oncology wards.

This event further advanced cooperation between Xiyuan Hospital and Uppsala University, Sweden, opening a new chapter of friendly collaboration and joint development between both parties. In the future, Xiyuan Hospital will continue to engage in exchanges and cooperation with top world-class academic teams, leverage its own advantages, further promote the development of various disciplines, and help enhance the service capacity and international influence of traditional Chinese medicine.
