Sandstone Sculpture of Curing Poison by Scraping Bone

Hua Tuo (about 145-208), also named Yuanhua, a famous medical scientist in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, was called "the Originator of Surgery" by later generations. "Curing the poison by scraping bone", which is a famous historical story, comes from the Records of the Three Kingdoms. According to legend, in the 2nd century AD, Guan Yu was injured by an arrow in his arm, resulting in the invasion of poison into his bone. Hua Tuo passed through the place by coincide, and saved the life of "Saint of War" by surgical bone scraping.
